Back in June, the Black Keys and producer Danger Mouse sued both Pizza Hut and Home Depot for using El Camino tracks without permission. Entertainment Weekly reports that both companies have denied the band’s claims.
Dan Auerbach, Patrick Carney, and Danger Mouse sued the company after Pizza Hut ran an ad with ”Gold on the Ceiling” and Home Depot used ”Lonely Boy”. In addition to denying the allegations, each corporation has asked the judge to have the band pay their attorneys’ fees if they win the case.
So by now, you guys know that I’m a huge supporter of the arts. I’m there when the hard work is being put in whether it’s Recording artists laying down a track, Athletes training for a game or reading lines with Actors; so I feel that they should get everything they deserve when it comes to Royalties etcetera. I don’t know the details of this case, but I will say if the Artists’ music was used they should be properly compensated. xo @RozOonTheGo
