J. COLE Ready To Compete With KANYE: June 18th - Historic!

Confidence is so attractive, but that’s another post! I love some good old competition and we’re in for a great show come June 18th. Both highly-talented hip-hop artists plan to release their albums on this date. Cole announced yesterday that he was moving up his release for ‘Born Sinner’; it was originally scheduled for a July release. Well, all hip-hop heads, myself included, know that the genius that is Kanye West is debuting his sixth solo album ‘Yeezus’ on the same date! I wonder if Mr. Shawn Carter had anything to do with this switch! J. Cole is signed to Jay’s Roc Nation. Cole told Billboard that once he (Cole) confirmed Ye’s release date a lightbulb went off and he wanted to move his own date up.
“Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of our generation. Which is exactly why I’m moving my release date up.” J. Cole tweeted.
“I’m not going to sit [here]… I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album. It’d be like, ‘Oh and J.Cole dropped too, a week later.’ Nah. I’m going to go see him on that date. He’s the greatest. So it’s like, I’m a competitor by nature so it was instant, it wasn’t even a thought.”
He’ll also be going up against Mac Miller’s “Watching Movies With The Sound Off’, which drops on June 18th as well. A great day for music! I’m so excited! J. Cole knows what he’s up against with Kanye, citing that Ye’s ’ track record is flawless and that he’s only expecting an incredible album from him’. Adding, ‘But I know what I have’. I LOVE it! JAY-Z + Rockabye Baby Music?
I think this is pretty awesome! Blue Ivy’s dad has some new music coming that’ll cater to a different audience. An audience that would probably go on play-dates with Blue!
Yes, Mr. Carter is working with Rockabye Baby Music, a company who’d like to release new versions of the rappers’ biggest hits including “Run This Town”, “Empire State Of Mind” and “Hard Knock Life”, which will be apart of the companies’ popular lullaby series. It will be released in July! Saying these two (Beyonce + Jay) are a power couple is putting it lightly! Oh, Kanye West was the first rap artist they chose to cover back in May 2010. CONGRATS To RHIANNA: The Singer Sweeps R&B Categories at BMA’S!
The singer won an award in all three R&B categories! To be more specific, that’s Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album (Unapologetic) and Top R&B song (“Diamond”). Additionally, she received the Top Radio Artist award! Pour it up, pour it up Rih!
The singer is tied for second most awards of the night with Gotye. She was nominated for 10 awards in total.’

Each believed the night belonged to the other. When it came down to announcing the winner, both girls repeated each other’s name.
“I was saying her name, because I was just certain he was going to say it, so I was like, ‘Oh yeah, Kree, Kree, Kree,’ and she was like, ‘No, Candice, Candice, Candice,’ ” a stunned Glover told reporters shortly after Wednesday’s American Idol finale.
We all now know that Glovers’ was the name called, but it’s great to see the love and friendship between the two, still.
“We tell each other we love each other probably 90,000 times a day,” Glover said. “But it really meant a lot for her to hug me and say, ‘I love you, and I’m so happy for you.’ And I said the same to her. I’m so proud of her.”
She added: “We are both so driven for each other’s careers, and I just felt like it was the beginning. This is not the end of the road for any of us. I’m so proud of her, and I am proud of myself for getting this far, and I couldn’t believe I was standing there with her at the finale.”
As I mentioned in a previous post, both of these young ladies will have amazing careers and it’s good to know that they’ll be rooting each other on because it’s a crazy business!

It NEVER fails! The Weeknd absolutely dominates every record that he’s ‘featured’ on! I haven’t listened to a lot of French Montana’s music, but when I heard about this single featuring the Canadian crooner I had to press play. I’m not disappointed. New Music Streaming Service By Google:
Yes, as speculated, the giant that is GOOGLE launched a music streaming service today!
The music subscription business is crowded, but Google, Inc. still feels that they can snag a piece of, if not all of this largely growing business. It’s ‘dubbed all access’ and it’s available in the U.S. as of today (Wednesday) for $9.99 a month with a 30-Day free trial. However, you can get a special rate of $7.99 per month if you sign up before June 30th.
The announcement was made at Google’s I/O conference for developers. I know personally that the Music Giants like Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group are embracing this new service from Google. ‘Music executives have applauded Google’s entry into the market.’
It’s not so warmly welcomed by everyone however. I’d like to see how it plays out. My main concern is that the Artist who creates the music is taking care of. Revenue will surely be increased for the music giants; let’s just assure it trickles down to the creators of the music that’s being streamed! The right amount that is .. as in percentage!
