CONGRATULATIONS are in order for LIL WAYNE. His latest release I AM NOT A HUMAN BEING II grabs the #2 spot on the Billboard charts selling 217,000 copies it’s first week! Weezy came in behind JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE who took the #1 spot with 318,000 copies sold of the 20/20 EXPERIENCE album!
Many called Tunes latest effort ‘experimental’ and not up to par. Well, 217K in first week sales isn’t too shabby with the recent decline in music sales over the past few years. The decline isn’t necessarily due to the caliber of music, instead the blame is piracy. In any case, I #salute those who still purchase music. I’m in the recording studio with these recording artists day in and day out. It’s their talent, it’s their love and they work hard to put out a good product. xo @rozOonTheGo

Sales On Fire for BEYONCE + DESTINY’S CHILD!

I knew there would be a sales surge after the MAJOR Super Bowl Half-time performance but this is CRAZY!

According to Billboard, “Beyonce’s digital album sales jump 230%; Destiny’s Child rocket more than 600% in week-ending Feb. 3.” Say my name, say my name! HA! ‘Beyonce’s biggest selling song of the week was ‘Halo’ and for Destiny’s Child it was ‘Say My Name.’ As the article suggested, more accurate numbers will be visible next week, ‘after a full seven days’ worth of sales are registered post-game.! Chart News: BRANDY

I’m so happy for B! Her ‘comeback’ album is a great piece of work! xo @RozOonTheGo

Brandy reaches the summit of R&B/Hip-Hop Albums for the second time in her nearly 18-year career, as “Two Eleven” debuts at No. 1 with 65,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It’s been more than 10 years since her previous chart-topper, “Full Moon,” debuted and peaked at No. 1 (March 23, 2002). In between her leaders, Brandy posted two top 10 albums, “Afrodisiac” (No. 4 in 2004) and “Human” (No. 5, 2008), as well as a greatest-hits collection, “The Best of Brandy,” (No. 11, 2005).

Her triumphant return to the chart’s upper reaches is also evident on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Her new album’s lead single, “Put It Down,” featuring Chris Brown, peaked at No. 3 earlier this month, becoming her first top 10 hit in more than 10 years and matching her previous best position reached by “What About Us?,” the lead single off “Full Moon,” in 2002.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Score Top Billboard 200 Debut:

As forecasted a week ago, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with “The Heist.” The hip-hop set sold 78,000 in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan, marking the best sales week yet for either artist.

The album is Macklemore’s second full-length effort, and teams him with producer Lewis. “The Heist” was released independently through Alternative Distribution Alliance and comes after years of steady growth for the act. Lewis’ official YouTube channel has 47,000 subscribers (a growth of 5,000 from a week ago) and 25.5 million views (up 3 million). Meanwhile the duo’s SoundCloud has amassed 1 million plays from seven tracks.

With such support via online services, it’s no surprise to see that 83% of the album’s first week consisted of download sales.

Macklemore and Lewis recently wrapped a sold-out European tour and launched a 50-show U.S. and Canada trek last week.

PINK Earns First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart!

Congrats Pink! I still remember the pink hair days! *sigh* xo @RozOonTheGo

After debuting more than 12 years ago on the Billboard 200 chart, pop superstar P!nk gets her first No. 1 album this week as “The Truth About Love” debuts with 280,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

That’s the best debut sales week for the singer, whose previous highest start came when “M!ssundaztood” launched with 220,000 at No. 6 in 2001. Also, “The Truth About Love’s” opening is the third-biggest debut this year, following Justin Bieber’s bow with “Believe” (374,000) and Madonna’s “MDNA” (359,000).

P!nk’s new album performed stronger than anticipated, as some industry sources last week were initially thinking that it would sell around 220,000 to 230,000. However, the set kept on blowing past expectations on a daily basis, and by the weekend, was on its way to passing up 250,000.

TREY SONGZ Gets First No. 1 Album On Billboard 200!

Trey Songz finally nabs his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as “Chapter V” bows atop the list with 135,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It’s the R&B singer’s fifth full-length studio album and follows 2010’s “Passion, Pain & Pleasure,” which debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 240,000. It was beaten to the pole position that week — just barely — by Linkin Park’s also-debuting “A Thousand Suns.” The latter set started with just 1,000 copies more — 241,000.

In ADELE News: ‘21’ Ties w/PRINCE’S ‘Purple Rain’!

Adele’s 21 shows no signs of fading away any time soon. The global chart-topping album has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

If you’ve been counting, that’s 24 nonconsecutive weeks atop the U.S. albums chart. Since last week, the British singer sold 75,000 copies of her sophomore effort, reports Billboard.

Perhaps even more impressive than spending 24 nonconsecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200, is that Adele’s album joins only eight albums to spend six months leading the list. 21 now ties Prince and the Revolution’s 1984 Purple Rain soundtrack with 24 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1.

Adele’s 21 has never left the Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 in its entire 68-week run.

The juggernaut album has now sold 9.3 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Adding to Adele’s long list of accolades, it’s only a matter of time before 21 reaches rare RIAA diamond sales status, passing the 10 million mark.
