Confidence is so attractive, but that’s another post! I love some good old competition and we’re in for a great show come June 18th. Both highly-talented hip-hop artists plan to release their albums on this date. Cole announced yesterday that he was moving up his release for ‘Born Sinner’; it was originally scheduled for a July release. Well, all hip-hop heads, myself included, know that the genius that is Kanye West is debuting his sixth solo album ‘Yeezus’ on the same date! I wonder if Mr. Shawn Carter had anything to do with this switch! J. Cole is signed to Jay’s Roc Nation. Cole told Billboard that once he (Cole) confirmed Ye’s release date a lightbulb went off and he wanted to move his own date up.

“Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of our generation. Which is exactly why I’m moving my release date up.” J. Cole tweeted.

“I’m not going to sit [here]… I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album. It’d be like, ‘Oh and J.Cole dropped too, a week later.’ Nah. I’m going to go see him on that date. He’s the greatest. So it’s like, I’m a competitor by nature so it was instant, it wasn’t even a thought.”

He’ll also be going up against Mac Miller’s “Watching Movies With The Sound Off’, which drops on June 18th as well. A great day for music! I’m so excited! J. Cole knows what he’s up against with Kanye, citing that Ye’s ’ track record is flawless and that he’s only expecting an incredible album from him’.  Adding, ‘But I know what I have’. I LOVE it!
