Buh-Bye L.A. helloooo BK! MTV just announced that they’ll be moving the VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS FROM the Staples Center to the Barclays Center! The show will air live on August 25th. They made the announcement via their Instagram account through a series of photos with the hashtag #RoadToTheVMAs. A notable tidbit for you guys as well .. MTV was the FIRST Brand to reach 1 million followers on Instagram in November 2012 according to mashable! This will be a huge event! Roz-O will be on-the-go! xo

“In announcing this year’s date and location, we wanted to create a visual story that slowly gave the show’s inherently social fanbase clues to create a conversation and stir excitement,” MTV President Stephen Friedman told Mashable.
“From hip-hop to hipsters, Jay Z to MGMT, Brooklyn musicians have a long history of dominating the spotlight on MTV,” Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz said in a statement. “Brooklyn is a cultural Mecca — the hippest, coolest place for young people across the country, and has played a crucial role in the careers of some of 2013’s biggest bands, like Fun and the Lumineers.”

The first-ever VMAs at Staples Center (which air at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with a pre-show at 7 p.m.) will also feature previously announced performances from One Direction, Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day and Frank Ocean.
Confirmed presenters include the Wanted, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and the “Fierce Five,” the 2012 gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team. Korean rapper and “Gangnam Style” YouTube sensation Psy, who was just signed to Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun’s record label will also be in the house.
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards are set to go live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. MTV’s Teen Mom airs its series finale on Tuesday, but that may not be the last you’ll see of star Farrah Abraham on television.
The 21-year-old stopped by the Celebuzz studio and told us that she’s currently in discussions to return to TV. And this time it won’t be about being a young mom. Rather, she aims to be a media mogul and exploit her culinary talents.
“I definitely want to start on my own digital media platform. So, like my YouTube channel and I’ve been messing around with some things on there,” she tells us.
What else is Farrah cooking up for life after Teen Mom?
“Then, moving on to Food Network, Cooking Channel and maybe WE network,” she says. “I think that’s the best place for me moving forward.”

The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards nominations are out, and Rihanna and Drake are leading the pack with five nods each. Last year’s big winner Katy Perry isn’t far behind, with four nominations.
Rihanna has two chances to win for Video of the Year: she’s nominated both for her hit “We Found Love” and for her duet with Drake, “Take Care.” Others in the category include Katy Perry, who took home the top prize “Firework” last year and is up this year for “Wide Awake”; Gotye for his Hot 100 champ “Somebody That I Used To Know”; and M.I.A. for her comeback single “Bad Girls.”
Another stacked category is the Best New Artist showdown, which features a pair of boy bands (One Direction and The Wanted), two Hot 100 toppers (fun. and Carly Rae Jepsen), and R&B It guy Frank Ocean, whose Odd Future compatriot, Tyler, The Creator, took the prize last year. Ocean’s “Swim Good” will compete with Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” Drake’s ‘Take Care,” Chris Brown’s “Turn Up The Music” and Usher’s “Climax” in the R&B-heavy Best Male Video category (and yes, Drizzy and Breezy will square off in that one once again).

As one of mainstream hip-hop’s most prolific artists, Kanye West makes it easy to forget that his last solo album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” was released over 18 months ago. But work on Yeezy’s sixth full-length is apparently underway, and would follow his forthcoming GOOD Music compilation, “Cruel Summer.”
In a red carpet with MTV at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards last Friday (June 29), Chicago producer and Def Jam Executive VP of A&R No I.D. revealed that he has begun work on West’s next album. “I’m not working on [‘Cruel Summer’],” says No I.D., “I’m working on his album.”
When asked about the direction of the new material, No I.D. said of West, “He hasn’t missed yet. It’s what you expect, and everything you don’t expect. It’s gonna be great.”
“Cruel Summer” is due for an Aug. 7 release, one summer after West and Jay-Z dropped their collaborative album, “Watch The Throne.” West and the rest of the GOOD Music cohorts hit the stage at the 2012 BET Awards last Sunday to perform their single “Mercy,” while West later unveiled a new track, “New God Flow,” featuring Pusha T.

DRE sealed it for me! So I, Roz-O Co-Sign this upcoming star HEAVY! If you love real hip-hop music & jam artist like BIG K.R.IT. then I’m sure you’ll appreciate Tito Lopez. Photos of @Rihanna appearing to roll a marijuana blunt at the Coachella Music Festival over the weekend have sparked online criticism of the R&B star — but she has some strong words for the haters.
“Yikes. @Rihanna’s marijuana photos from Coachella spark controversy,”MTV wrote on its Twitter account on Thursday afternoon, posting shots from the singer’s Instagram feed and drawing a barbed response from Rihanna herself.
“@MTV Yikes… @rihanna ran out of f***s to give,” she tweeted back. (SN: hahaaaaaaa!)
MTV has since deleted its tweet, though the story remains posted.
“I’m crazy, and I don’t pretend to be anything else,” Rihanna tweeted on Tuesday, in response to fans concerned by the photos.
