DRAKE x VIBE:

image

What a captivating title for the Winter 2014 cover story eh?! I’d say Yes!

TO’s own has definitely had any amazing year & I’m sure we can all agree that Nothing Was The Same after he dropped his latest LP. It seems as if energizer batteries were placed in his back & he hasn’t stopped since. John Kennedy, who wrote the story for Vibe, says that “Toronto’s top dog delivered 2013’s best LP” and Vibe even named NWTS album of the year. Although, I have some favorite tracks on the album & I’m a huge fan of Aubrey’s, I’m not sure that I agree with that statement. However, I do agree that Drizzy probably had the best rap year next to Jay Z and Kanye of course. He actually stated that Ye was his only competition. Oh?! xo ROZ-O!

“This album is probably the most aware of self that I’ve ever been,” Drake says. He’s rocking a virtually airbrushed shape-up, dark blue button-up shirt and creamy gray Timbs, preparing to deconstruct his best project to date. As he leans against a white throw pillow embroidered with OVO’s owl logo, Drake appears comfortable with his current pole position. “I’m here, I’m gonna own this now. I’m gonna give you guys everything and keep going forward ’til something else happens. Like, I’ve fallen in love. Or make the real Here, My Dear…

Pick up the issue & read more at Vibe.com. Congrats Drake!

APPLE Knocks Coca-Cola Off The Throne!

Apparently that Coca-Cola reign let’s up!

I knew that Coca-Cola was a huge brand, but I had no idea that it topped the worlds ‘most valuable brands’ list for 13 years! According to the branding and corporate identity consulting company: Interbrand, ‘Coca-Cola has been dethroned by Apple!’

They note that in ‘this year’s report, Apple’s value is currently estimated at $98.3 billion, a 28% increase from 2012.’ That’s a lot of Apple products being pushed and sold. Both brands are highly marketed and loved, so I’m not surprised that they reign supreme over the others. Apple won the ‘value’ game, but Coca-Cola is still #1 on the Facebook frontier with 73.2 million fans versus Apple’s 9.8 million fans. LANDSLIDE! Personally,  I think that may have more to do with the age group that’s active on Facebook. Any whoo, for more information slide over to NY Times!

FORBES CROWNS THE 5 WEALTHIEST ARTISTS IN HIP-HOP: 2013
You can check out the full story in the April issue of Forbes, but for now peep the below!
PUFFY aka SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS grabs the #1 spot with an estimated net worth of $580 million! His CIROC Brand is one of the primary contribution. “It’s one of the fastest-growing brands within vodka.” It’s definitely a premium product that people are supporting. I don’t drink much, but when I do I drink responsibly and I drink CIROC! I am a CIROC GIRL!
SHAWN “JAY-Z” CARTER comes in at #2 with a net worth of $475 million. Not too shabby huh? Deals that contribute to his net worth are the 2007 sale of Rocawear, his deal with Live Nation in 2008 and holding a stake in Roc Nation, Carol’s Daughter, The Barclays and the Brooklyn Nets to name a few!
ANDRE “DR. DRE” YOUNG ranks #3 with $350 million and we all know that his Beats By Dre products plays a huge role in this! I am a Beats By Dre Chick; they live on my ears in every color!
BRYAN “BIRDMAN” WILLIAMS takes the #4 spot with a net worth of $150 million thanks to the Cash Money/Young Money empire. He recently launched a YMCMB clothing line and his GT VODKA.
CURTIS “50 CENT” JACKSON rounds out the list at #5 with a net worth of $125 million. 50 is great at building brands and I see him continuing this trend in the future!
I salute you all! Keep diversifying your hustles. You make me proud and most of all, you inspire me! xo @rozOonTheGo
