In KREAYSHAWN NEWS: For Those Who Care…..

Kreayshawn will release her full-length debut, Somethin Bout Kreay, this summer. A video for the project’s lead single “Breakfast,” featuring 2 Chainz, is expected for next month. The odd couple have worked together before, on “Murder” from 2 Chainz’ T.R.U. Realigion mixtape. The video for that collaboration, long teased, remains unreleased.

Somethin Bout Kreay will feature production by German dance DJ Boys Noize“Gucci Gucci” architect DJ Two Stacks and AXE spokesperson Diplo. Of her decision to hire the producer, Kreayshawn told Pitchfork, “I know Diplo knows a lot about underground music culture… He was one of the people to put me onto music like that when I used to listen to the Mad Decent Mixes. It was like, Oh, he knows what I want.’”

In 2 Chainz News!

When it comes to his career, 2 Chainz possesses Zen-like patience. After forming Playaz Circle with Dolla Boy in 1997, the rapper formerly known as Tity Boi scored success 10 years later when the duo’s 2007 Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam debut, “Supply & Demand,” reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart on the strength of the No. 4 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs single “Duffle Bag Boy,” featuring Lil Wayne. But then the duo stalled with 2009 follow-up “Flight 360: The Takeoff.” The album peaked at No. 11 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums but only reached No. 74 on the Billboard 200.

Two years and seven solo mixtapes later — together with a new moniker — the rapper is nearing critical mass. On Nov. 1, 2 Chainz will release hisDJ Drama-hosted “Gangsta Grillz” mixtape “T.R.U. REALigion,” a testament to his relentless touring regimen, self-financing and persistence. “My whole campaign is believing that I got this far by being independent and, at the same time, being true to myself,” the 27 yr. old says.

Viral cuts like “Spend It” and the silky “Feeling You” have rocketed the College Park, Ga., native to the top of the hip-hop buzz chain, a position bolstered by appearances on Drama’s “Oh My (Remix)” and French Montana's “Whip.” Explaining the rapid rise in listener interest, 2 Chainz says, “It's definitely the realness. I can depict a story that you can just feel is real-whether checking the résumé or not.”

Ok, I know the Kreayshawn ’stans’ may unfollow me or leave nasty comments after this post *kanye shrug*; but I’m a Music Industry Vet and I can speak intelligently on this in one sentence. How is that Complex Magazine found it fitting to put Kreay Kreay on the cover having only one ‘hit’ single under her belt?

LIL B SPEAKS ON NEW ARTIST, KREAYSHAWN
Less than a month after debuting the visuals for her song, “Gucci Gucci,” fresh face, Kreayshawn, has inked a deal with Columbia Records on June 8. Confirmation comes a week (May 31) after Miss Info reported that the East Oakland native had signed on the dotted line for $1 milli.
But rhyming isn’t the only skill Kreayshawn has tucked under her garter belt. Kreayshawn has directed and conceptualized videos since she was 10 yrs. old. In 2009, Kreayshawn met another Oakland transplant, Lil B, through a mutual friend, DB Tha General. Quickly vibing, Kreayshawn shot videos for Lil B (“F*ck Yo Hair,” “Like a Martian,” “Insane” and “Basedworld 1989”) and hung out with the Based God when he was working on “Rain in England,” according to ‘Complex.’
Lil B took time to speak to Billboard.com’s The Juice on Kreayshawn and her success. “When you’re an artist you get what you deserve,” Lil B says. “I’m happy that she’s working for her dreams and following the world I have created. She’s definitely talented and we will see what’s in store for the future. But it’s all about Lil B and the Based God.”
