I’ve said it before and I’ll say it several more times: I love seeing high profile people give back! Some of the biggest creatives in music, film and fashion linked up with Re/Create to aid in Hurricane Sandy relief with a series of fashion auctions! To name a few: Kanye West, Kelly Osbourne, Skrillex, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs & Nicola Formichetti. According to Billboard, “Kanye West autographed a pair of his signature Yeezy II’s and Skrillex is giving up the ‘Baby Maker’ WeSC jacket he wore at the 2012 Grammys”.
“Like many New Yorkers, we were saddened by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy and motivated to help,” Re/Create writes on their site. “To assist the ongoing relief and rebuilding efforts we are proud to present this auction of personal, one of a kind items donated by prominent members of our creative community.”
To place a bid or check out the hot items, visit the Re/Create website.
What are you waiting for? Go bid now! I am, to support the cause! xo @RozOonTheGo
The opening day of Lollapalooza 2012 closed with a black celebration. Or the north end of Chicago’s Grant Park, devil horns flew and heads banged as Black Sabbath brought forth a metal onslaught of the heaviest form. On the south end, fireworks illuminated fans who swayed and shimmied to the sexy blues licks of festival faves the Black Keys. And somewhere in the midst of it all was organizer Perry Farrel, taking in his annual summer circus with his famously impish grin.
On its 21st anniversary (and its 8th year as a stationary, 3-day event), Lollapalooza remains the grand poobah of late-summer American festivals. With a lineup that veers from rock legends to rap rebels to dubstep deities, Lolla offers something for everyone with an ear for cutting-edge tunes - which is why more than 160,000 sun-drenched fans will swarm the 319 acres of downtown Chicago park land where the festival is held by weekend’s end.
It’s impossible to catch all the action and see each of the 50 bands that played on Lolla’s eight stages Friday, but that didn’t stop us from trying. Here’s the high points of what went down on day 1:
Rock ‘n’ roll daughter Georgia May Jagger was enlisted by Madonna and daughter Lourdes as the new face for their Material Girl brand in May, and photos for the model’s first ad campaign were released this week.
When Georgia May — daughter to Mick Jagger — was selected as the brand’s new model, she said in a press release to NYMag that she was “thrilled” to be working with the mother and daughter team. “To be handpicked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing. I’ve always admired Madonna’s style.” 20-year-old Jagger replaced former Material Girl spokeswoman Kelly Osbourne.
Now as Madonna jets around the world on her sold-out MDNA tour, Jagger’s new campaign has dropped. Shot during rehearsals for Madonna’s world tour, the campaign features Jagger living the “ultimate VIP” experience backstage. The model can be spotted leaning against amps, posing between wardrobe racks and sitting onstage.
A few pieces were sent to me and when I rocked Material Girl I received a load of compliments! I’m looking forward to more from the little fashion designer Lourdes! xo @RozOonThego
I missed this round of NEW YORK FASHION WEEK but I’ll be there in September! I love being under the tent; the environment is so, shall I say ‘rich’. The craziness back stage gives me panic attacks; but the times that I’ve been honored to experience the front row (last one was Marc Jacob); brought me nothing but pleasure!
Regarding the above snapshot, I MUST ask Ang what caught their attention at the BADGELY MISCHKA show lol! Notice the entire front row; but then all other rows are oblivious. Funny! xxoo @RozOonTheGo
