FORBES CROWNS THE 5 WEALTHIEST ARTISTS IN HIP-HOP: 2013
You can check out the full story in the April issue of Forbes, but for now peep the below!
PUFFY aka SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS grabs the #1 spot with an estimated net worth of $580 million! His CIROC Brand is one of the primary contribution. “It’s one of the fastest-growing brands within vodka.” It’s definitely a premium product that people are supporting. I don’t drink much, but when I do I drink responsibly and I drink CIROC! I am a CIROC GIRL!
SHAWN “JAY-Z” CARTER comes in at #2 with a net worth of $475 million. Not too shabby huh? Deals that contribute to his net worth are the 2007 sale of Rocawear, his deal with Live Nation in 2008 and holding a stake in Roc Nation, Carol’s Daughter, The Barclays and the Brooklyn Nets to name a few!
ANDRE “DR. DRE” YOUNG ranks #3 with $350 million and we all know that his Beats By Dre products plays a huge role in this! I am a Beats By Dre Chick; they live on my ears in every color!
BRYAN “BIRDMAN” WILLIAMS takes the #4 spot with a net worth of $150 million thanks to the Cash Money/Young Money empire. He recently launched a YMCMB clothing line and his GT VODKA.
CURTIS “50 CENT” JACKSON rounds out the list at #5 with a net worth of $125 million. 50 is great at building brands and I see him continuing this trend in the future!
I salute you all! Keep diversifying your hustles. You make me proud and most of all, you inspire me! xo @rozOonTheGo

Dr. Dre Tops Forbes’ 2012 Highest-Paid Musicians List!

Dr. Dre has finished a 12-month period of robust headphone sales and resurrecting Tupac Shakur in hologram form as Forbes’ highest-paid musician of the year. The hip-hop mogul reportedly earned an estimated $110 million during a scoring period that ran from May 2011 to May 2012.

Along with catalog sales and payment for performances like his headlining set with Snoop Dogg at the Coachella fest, Dre hauled in $100 million pre-tax when HTC bought a 51 percent stake in his Beats headphone company last year, according to Forbes. Dr. Dre takes the annual money crown from U2, who topped last year’s list with $195 million earned, thanks to their record-shattering 360 tour. This year, the veteran rockers slip to No. 4, with $78 million hauled in over the 12-month period.

'Hip-Hop Cash Kings' DR. DRE, DIDDY + JAY-Z Top Forbes' List!

Congrats to them all! I feel blessed to have worked with them all on some level! xo @RozOonTheGo

After creating some of the most classic albums hip-hop fans have ever heard, Dr. Dre shifted tactics and tackled exactly how those fans heard them, and his efforts have landed him on top of Forbes’ list of top hip-hop cash kings.

With $110 million in earnings in 2011, Dre blew away the competition, more than doubling second place earner Diddy's $45 million due to the income generated from royalties from “The Chronic” and 2001, as well as other past projects, production credits, and his wildly popular Beats By Dre headphone and speaker line created alongside Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine. Diddy's revenue also benefited from non-music-making income, with his Ciroc vodka profits augmenting his Bad Boy Records imprint and landing him behind his west coast counterpart.

EDM: MILLION DOLLAR DJ’S! TIESTO, SKRILLEX + MORE!

Kids, perhaps you shouldn’t rule out a future career as a DJ. As electronic dance music (EDM) continues to ascend the popular music charts, some of the genre’s biggest names are generating some serious cash along the way.

According to a list compiled by Forbes — the magazine’s first-ever class of "Electronic Cash Kings" — the world’s 10 highest-paid DJs raked in $125 million over the past year. Of course, when you consider that these DJs are now performing at some of the world’s biggest music festivals, gracing the cover of Rolling Stone, walking red carpets and making gossip headlines, it’s no surprise that they are becoming notable celebrities in their own rights.

So how much did these “Electronic Cash Kings” make? Tiesto topped the list $22 million — and an average nightly gross of $250,000 — while Skrillex was named No. 2 with $15 million, followed by the newly defunct Swedish House Mafia with roughly $14 million. Hitmaker David Guetta raked in $13.5 million, thanks in part to his Top 40 hits “Titanium,” featuring Sia, and his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Turn Me On.” Meanwhile, “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D surprisingly came in at No. 7 on the list with $11 million. We can’t wait to see what Deadmau5 — No. 6 — will have to say about that addition.

Check out the full list over at Forbes.com. Via HuffPost

I posted a list of some of the hottest upcoming music festivals yesterday and guess what? At least one of the above DJs is playing a set at each of them! I support the DJ and I salute ALL of these talented guys! xo @RozOonTheGo

DALLAS COWBOYS, WASHINGTON REDSKINS Most Valuable NFL Teams (FORBES):

All 32 NFL franchises made Forbes magazine’s list of the world’s 50 most valuable sports teams for 2012. It’s also no surprise the top two teams are heated rivals from the league’s highest-profile division, the NFC East.

Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys ($1.85 billion) trump Daniel Synder’s Washington Redskins ($1.56 billion) by a considerable margin for No. 1 overall. The Super Bowl champion New York Giants aren’t far behind at No. 4 valued at $1.3 billion. The Philadelphia Eagles round out the division’s financial prowess at No. 7, coming in at $1.16 billion.

In all, 15 NFL teams are worth $1 billion or more. The Jacksonville Jaguars, who turned their ownership over to Shad Khan this year, have the lowest value at $725 million.

Pulling just the NFL clubs from Forbes’ overall top 50, here is how they rank from 1-32 (team, value, owner):
