:( DAVE GROHL Confirms FOO FIGHTERS HIATUS:

Dave Grohl took to the Foo Fighters Facebook page today with a note confirming the band will take a hiatus just a few days after his onstage comments at the Global Citizen Festival in New York led to rumors of a break-up.

You can read the full text of Grohl’s letter here.

Hey everyone …

Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you …

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn’t think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But … I can’t give up this band. And I never will. Because it’s not just a band to me. It’s my life. It’s my family. It’s my world.

BILLBOARD’S Nuggets of Music News & Gossip:

Lil Wayne Helps Universal Lock Down Top Four Spots on R&B/Hip-Hop Chart
Universal Republic becomes the first record company to lock down the top four spots on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart in nearly six years. As it did a week ago, Universal Republic holds down positions 1 to 3, respectively, with “I’m On One” by DJ Khaled featuring Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne (on We the Best/Young Money/Cash Money), “How to Love” by Lil Wayne (Cash Money) and “Motivation” by Kelly Rowland featuring Lil Wayne (Universal Motown). Jumping up 5-4 is Nicki Minaj with “Super Bass” (Young Money/Cash Money) — which doesn’t feature Wayne, but he’s Minaj’s mentor, frequent collaborator and, since Young Money is his label, basically her boss. Read the full story at Billboard.biz.

The Jonas Brothers Will Reunite ‘Eventually’
The Jonas Brothers may not be making music together right now, but fans can expect more from the trio in the future. “Definitely, me and my bros, we are gonna make another project eventually,” Joe Jonas said. “Right now, we’re just focused on the side projects and the individual stuff we’re doing.” Joe has a solo album coming out this fall and younger brother Nick has already released his own album, and is now writing and producing for other artists. The 21-year-old middle JoBro gave a vague timeframe for the new project, saying, “In the next few years or a year or so, we’re gonna make more music together.” (MTV)

Eminem, Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Muse will help Lollapalooza ring in its 20th anniversary as the headliners of the annual U.S. music festival. The full lineup for Lollapalooza 2011, which will invade Chicago’s Grant Park on August 5-7, was revealed on the festival’s official website early Tuesday morning (Apr. 26).

For Eminem, the headlining set follows a triumphant 2010 in which he scored the best-selling album of the year (“Recovery”) and a pair of Hot 100 chart-toppers (“Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie”). The rapper is also set to headline the 2011 Bonnaroo festival, which takes place June 9-12 in Manchester, Tenn.
