NEW VIDEO: HOW YA DOIN’ - LITTLE MIX FEAT. MISSY ELLIOTT (WORLDWIDE)
What a cute and colorful video! I’m watching these chicks. I love how the U.K. artists are crossing over stateside with some pretty cool records. I mean, they have Missy on this joint AND in the video! Not too shabby. The track is from their debut album 'DNA'. Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall were the first group contestant to win the U.K. version of 'The X-Factor' in 2011. Their current single "Wings" has already sold 97K downloads according t Nielsen Soundscan. Will these girls be International stars? I guess we have to keep watching to see! xo @rozOonTheGo
DAFT PUNK Signs With Columbia Records For 4th Album!
‘Sony Music is ramping up it’s dance music arsenal’ according to billboard.com! They recently formed an alliance with Ultra Records and now comes the signing of Daft Punk! I left working full-time for the record labels in 2007, but I’d probably go back for this! Ultra Records truly is an ‘EDM powerhouse' and the French DJ Duo are very 'influential'! The last Daft Punk album was 2005's “Human After All” so the fans are due for another album! I still don't have an official release date but my sources say it will be in 2013! Stay tuned xo @RozOonTheGo
Awwww my first of many magazine interviews :) (2000). Hits Magazine featured me in the coveted 'Makin' it Happen' section when I began my radio promotions career at Sony/Columbia Records; where I worked records for acts: Nas, Destiny’s Child, 50 Cent, Lauryn Hill/The Fugee’s, Mariah Carey and many more! #grateful @RozOonTheGo
When asked ‘what advice I’d like to give to those aspiring to get in the Biz’:
"Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it. Don’t get caught up in the celebrity scene. And if you’re a female, don’t let this male industry take control (of you)." (12 years later I’m happy to say that I’ve taken + stuck by my own advice)
Earl Sweatshirt is coming back with a bang.
After spending time at the Coral Reef Academy in Samoa as his music was going viral back home, the Odd Future collective member has signed a label deal and has several projects planned. According to the New York Times, the MC will have his own imprint, Tan Cressida, through Columbia Records. The deal allows him to include the Odd Future logo on his releases, while his crew continues with their own Odd Future Records, distributed by RED. (Both labels share a parent in Sony Music.)
Sweatshirt’s future will be prolific: he’s reportedly considering a solo album, a collaboration with Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator dubbed EarlWolf, and a release with Odd Future producer Matt Martians.
His ambitious schedule should satisfy fans, who’ve been treated to only a few minutes of new material since the MC’s return to L.A. Odd Future’s latest album, “The OF Tape Vol. 2,” includes a verse he wrote in Samoa on the track “Oldie.”
LIL B SPEAKS ON NEW ARTIST, KREAYSHAWN
Less than a month after debuting the visuals for her song, “Gucci Gucci,” fresh face, Kreayshawn, has inked a deal with Columbia Records on June 8. Confirmation comes a week (May 31) after Miss Info reported that the East Oakland native had signed on the dotted line for $1 milli.
But rhyming isn’t the only skill Kreayshawn has tucked under her garter belt. Kreayshawn has directed and conceptualized videos since she was 10 yrs. old. In 2009, Kreayshawn met another Oakland transplant, Lil B, through a mutual friend, DB Tha General. Quickly vibing, Kreayshawn shot videos for Lil B (“F*ck Yo Hair,” “Like a Martian,” “Insane” and “Basedworld 1989”) and hung out with the Based God when he was working on “Rain in England,” according to ‘Complex.’
Lil B took time to speak to Billboard.com’s The Juice on Kreayshawn and her success. “When you’re an artist you get what you deserve,” Lil B says. “I’m happy that she’s working for her dreams and following the world I have created. She’s definitely talented and we will see what’s in store for the future. But it’s all about Lil B and the Based God.”
Just a glimpse of SOME of the records and Recording artists that I promoted/worked with at Radio while working for Columbia Records/Sony Music! Man, I was working hard! WE had a huge roster! Shout out to Keith “Wok” Watts, CJ, Diana Ashworth and Tye Dash! Oh and who can forget Footloose who is STILL there! What a team!
Wooooooow can we say 1995 or is it 1996? Check out the braids and that outfit LOL!!! I’m still fly though! Don’t hate! I’m posing with the legendary Biz Markie at the Columbia Records office..that I would end up working at less than two years later! #blessed xoxo Roz-O! on The Go!
