The song matches the nine-week reign of ‘Call Me Maybe.’ Plus, Rihanna replaces PSY at No. 2 and a reinvented ’80s hit returns to the top 10.

Maroon 5’s “One More Night” spends a ninth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, tying for the year’s longest reign.
The song equals the nine-week command of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” Billboard’s Song of the Summer. It also passes Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” featuring Kimbra, for the year’s longest No. 1 run for a song sporting male vocals.
Here’s a look at 2012’s longest-leading No. 1 Hot 100 hits, ranked by weeks on top:
9, “One More Night,” Maroon 5
9, “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepsen
8, “Somebody That I Used To Know,” Gotye featuring Kimbra
6, “We Are Young,” fun. featuring Janelle Monae
3, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” Taylor Swift
3, “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” Kelly Clarkson
2, “Whistle,” Flo Rida
2, “Set Fire to the Rain,” Adele
2, “Sexy and I Know It,” LMFAO
2, “We Found Love,” Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris (*spent eight weeks at No. 1 in November/December 2011)
1, “Part of Me,” Katy Perry

Justin Bieber, Usher, No Doubt and Ke$ha will perform at the 40th annual American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 18, joining previously announced acts P!nk, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Pitbull and Linkin Park.
More artists are expected to join the lineup in the coming weeks.
Rihanna and Minaj lead the nominees for this year’s fan-voted event, earning four nominations a piece. Also represented among the contenders are Drake, Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher. Underwood and Pitbull are each up for two awards.
This year marks the introduction of a new category for Electronic Dance Music. Nominees include David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skrillex.
Talk to any EDM artist and they’ll tell you: artists who previously seemed unreachable are now within grasp. That should be even more so the case for Calvin Harris, who’s enjoyed considerable top 40 success teaming with Rihanna, Ne-Yo and more. Yet Harris didn’t think he had any chance of securing Florence Welch for their new “Sweet Nothing” single.
“I didn’t think she’d do it,” he tells Rolling Stone. “She seemed a really unattainable artist to reach for.”
So, why does he think she agreed? “I think she would’ve done it if the song was right and the people were right and it was all at the right time,” he says, adding, “I did a remix for her and she owed me a favor – I guess part of it was that.”
The track will be included on Harris’ 18 Months album, which will be released on October 29th. Befitting its title, the collection will be a look back at his ascent to the top of the pops over the last year and a half. “It’s like a compilation album. It’s everything I did over the past 18 months, so [it’s got] Rihanna, Kelis, Ne-Yo, Florence, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding,” he says. “It looks good.”

Get ready to dance, Lollapalooza fans. This year’s three-day, sold-out mega-festival that starts Friday on Chicago’s lakefront will have well-known headliners like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys, but it also will have a special focus on dance music. Two electronic heavyweights, Avicii and Justice, will play main stage shows this year
Swedish DJ-producer Tim Bergling, who performs as Avicii, sees his Lollapalooza performance as an example of dance music’s growing popularity.
“It’s just been blowing up so rapidly,” Bergling said. “It’s really interesting to see the bigger festivals getting into it now and recognizing the genre.”
Festival founder and Jane’s Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell said he looks at his more than 130-artist lineup as a guide to what’s happening in music.
“It’s not just alternative rock that’s happening,” Farrell said in April when the lineup was announced. “You’ve got Avicii headlining this thing and his music is what is happening.”
The festival also is expanding the stage that has hosted dance and electronica acts, removing last year’s tent that didn’t allow enough room for the more than 15,000 fans who wanted in.

If you are a fan of electronic music, you will probably recognize the names on this list but we think you’ll be very surprised and impressed at just how rich and highly paid the top DJs are. These DJs put out their own albums and produce songs for other mainstream artists like Madonna and Britney Spears, but their main bread and butter still comes from private shows.

Eminem, Warren G and Daz Dillinger are heading to Coachella, according to Warren G’s official site.
“Dr. Dre will perform at the 2012 edition of the annual Indie festival ‘Coachella’ in the desert. The good doctor will perform with all times friends Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Warren G & Eminem,” the MC announced in a post that was removed by Tuesday evening. “Kendrick Lamar will also be here to perform their new single ‘The Recipe.’ Y’all ready to feel the wrath of the Aftermath ? Let’s gooo!!”
According to Rolling Stone, Wiz Khalifa will also join the MCs during their all-star sets.
The Goldenvoice-produced festival will span two identical weekends this year, with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg set to close out the festival on April 15 and 22. Whether the full rap ensemble will appear at both shows remains to be seen. Radiohead and the Black Keys will headline the Southern California event’s other nights, with the rest of the lineup including Bon Iver, A$AP Rocky, AVICII, Florence + The Machine, Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean and many more.

Wynn Las Vegas upped the ante on Sin City’s high-stakes EDM game this week, announcing 34 artists contracted for exclusive residencies across its four venues (Encore Beach Club, XS, Tryst, and Surrender). The roster includes powerful names like David Guetta, Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, as well as previously announced mega-stars like Tiësto and Deadmau5.
The sheer strength of the line-up gives Wynn a leg-up on its only major local competitor, Strategic Group, which manages the DJ-focused Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at Cosmopolitan (as well as Lavo at Palazzo, and Tao at The Venetian); and further demonstrates the level of investment casino-hotels are willing to make to lock in lucrative stars, and lock out each other. But regardless of who’s writing the checks, the artists are benefiting.
“The casinos aren’t screwing around,” says Joel Zimmerman, head of William Morris Electronic, which books Wynn residents Afrojack and Deadmau5, and Marquee resident Kaskade. “And it’s not just about the big guys. For an artist on their way up, part of the biggest chore is awareness, and casinos are facilitating that with the money they’re spending on marketing to get the tourists. Guys like Calvin Harris and R3HAB have experienced tremendous growth because of it. It’s a great platform for everybody.”

One year after the release of “Loud,” Rihanna will return with “Talk That Talk,” her sixth studio album that will be out on Nov. 21. The pop star unveiled the title of her next opus via her Facebook page on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
The announcement comes two weeks after Rihanna released the album’s first single, the Calvin Harris-assisted “We Found Love,” and revealed the full-length’s release date. “Love” debuted at No. 16 on the Hot 100 last week.
The official video for “We Found Love,” which was shot in Northern Ireland, is also forthcoming, with Rihanna posting on Twitter last week, “I really can’t stop thinking about this video we just shot! EASILY the BEST video I’ve done thus far!”
“Talk That Talk” marks Rihanna’s sixth album in seven years; since its November 2010 release, “Loud” has sold 1.5 million copies, making the disc her second-biggest-selling album yet. “Loud” has also notched three No. 1 singles on the Hot 100: “Only Girl (In the World),” “What’s My Name?” (featuring Drake) and “S&M.”
