As I blast BIG K.R.I.T.’S ‘If I Fall’ featuring Melanie Fiona, I hold a slight grin when reading the great news regarding his album. His ‘LIVE FROM THE UNDERGROUND’ album made a big debut on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart claiming the #1 spot and selling 41,000 units according to Nielsen Soundscan! So BIG K.R.I.T. I salute you and Island Def Jam for believing in such a talented ‘underground’ artist like yourself! Great producer, great artist. Respect! If you haven’t already, GO buy the album NOW!

SN: Love to Curren$y who’s ‘The Stoned Immaculate’ debuted at #2 selling 36,000 units!

In YELAWOLF News:

Though his next album, tentatively titled “Love Story,” will likely come later rather than sooner, Yelawolf still has plenty of music on the runway.

The Alabama rapper tells Billboard.com that a combination of circumstance and creative desire has led him to delay the planned June start of work on “Love Story,” the follow-up to “Radioactive,” his 2011 debut for Eminem’s Shady Records. Yelawolf is currently making up shows he had to cancel after suffering a ruptured spleen in March, which is pushing the schedule back, but he also feels that the additional time will result in a better album.

“I did ‘Radioactive’ in two weeks, and I don’t want to feel that rushed ever again,” Yelawolf explains. “I felt like we definitely did a great job on ‘Radioactive.’ I’m very proud of it. But just looking up to people, the pioneers who put out great albums, I’d like to put a few months into a great album. I know what I hear and I know what I feel as far as making an album; even if I record it in two weeks, I want to sit with it and f*** with it and see what I can do — not overthink it and be weird, but just put more time and thought into an actual album.”

Mixtape Music!

Although he has yet to set a new release date for his proper debut album, Mississippi rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T. is staying busy on the mixtape front, dropping a 17-track effort titled “4Eva N A Day,” on Monday (Mar. 5). Click here for the free download. “4Eva N A Day” is the most autonomous release yet from the rapper: K.R.I.T. (real name: Justin Scott) produced the entirety of the album, and there are no guest vocalists. The tape follows his 2010 breakout “K.R.I.T. Wuz Here” and last year’s “Return of 4Eva,” all of which preview his long-awaited Def Jam debut, “Live From The Underground.”
In an October interview, K.R.I.T. professed that the multiple album delays were ultimately “for the best.” “You know some sample clearances here and there, some features that I need to take care of… It’s just getting the quality right and getting the ideas right, making it all work and fit together,” he said.

For Big K.R.I.T., the June 7 release of his “R4: The Prequel” through Island Def Jam was a proud moment. It’s the first bar code offering from the Meridian, Miss., rapper/producer, and though the five-song set, available exclusively as a digital EP, is a collection packaged from material that can already be found online, to K.R.I.T., the release is still a sign of success.
“I’m happy to put it on a scale where it’s in retail,” says K.R.I.T., whose stage name is an acronym for a King Remembered in Time. “Regardless of if I already gave it away or it’s not all brand-new, it’s a milestone in my career. I produced it all, and it’s available to buy now.”
