Coinciding with Art Basel Miami, an annual exhibition in stemming from an international art fair in Switzerland, UR1 will also feature the work of rising artists in on-site galleries.
“I want to believe that Kanye and his team see what we are creating with this fusion of art and music, and that was what was appealing to them,” says Emi Guerra, who co-created the festival with Ultra Music Festival co-founder Alex Omes. In addition, two music stages will be curated by The Fader and Reignfield Arena.
After touring alongside Jay-Z on their Watch The Throne trek over the past year, West made a surprise appearance at Jay’s Made In America headlining set on Saturday night (Sept. 1). West is currently prepping the release of his GOOD Music compilation “Cruel Summer,” set to hit stores on Sept. 18.
